The Center for Italian Modern Art is working on a special project to bring new life to the 1927 book, Depero Futurista, a landmark of graphic design and avant-garde bookmaking, created by the Italian Futurist Fortunato Depero (1892-1960).

Inside the Magic Box: Io e mia moglie, 1919
In 1940 Depero wrote these lines about his painting, Io e Mia Moglie (I and My Wife), one of the only self-portraits he ever made: This painting is one of the first examples of a ‘psychological portrait.’ It was conceived in Viareggio in 1918 and finished in Rovereto in 1919.
