CIMA Members Visit to the Met’s Paradise of Exiles
July 09, 2017
CIMA MEMBERS ONLY! Join us on July 10 for a private visit to the exhibition, Paradise of Exiles: Early Photography in Italy, currently on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, led by Beth Saunders, a curatorial assistant at The Met and curator of the exhibition. Presenting works from the years 1839-1871, this exhibition centers on Italy’s crucial role in the experimentation and invention of photography. In line with CIMA’s own mission to develop underrepresented narratives, Paradise of Exiles illuminates Italy’s lesser-known contributions to the art form. The exhibition will include works from The Met’s collection as well as a number of rare works from the period of Italian Unification (or the Risorgimento).
